Edaran Tan Chong Motor Concludes 2015 Nissan Safety Campaign

KUALA LUMPUR, 03 November 2015 – Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM) recently concluded its Nissan Safety Campaign 2015 with the Nissan Safety Driving Experience, held at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS).

60 Nissan owners participated in the Safety Driving Experience, and at the same time drove their own vehicles which included the Nissan Teana, X-Trail, Sylphy, Almera, Serena S-Hybrid, X-Gear, Grand Livina and Latio.

The Nissan Safety Driving Experience aimed to educate owners on proper and safe driving techniques, giving them the skills and tools they need to drive safely on today’s roads, and to learn about the Nissan safety features in their vehicles. The modules consisted of a theory session which covered proper steering and seating positions; and practical courses which included a slalom course to understand the correct steering techniques, braking and lane changing exercise to maximize effectiveness of Anti-Locking Braking System (ABS), as well as skid control exercise to demonstrate vehicle control in slippery conditions while working together with vehicle’s traction control. The participants were also timed during each exercise for the instructors to better assess the level of their driving skills.

“Road safety is important. As a car company, we are not only committed to ensure the latest safety technologies on our Nissan vehicle, but through the Safety Driving Experience, we hope that the knowledge and skills gained are beneficial for Nissan owners to be smarter and safer drivers on the road,” said Dato’ Dr. Ang Bon Beng, Executive Director of ETCM.

The one-day Nissan Safety Driving Experience was the final programme under ETCM’s Nissan Safety Campaign 2015. Launched earlier this year in April at Legoland in Johor Bahru, the Nissan Safety Campaign 2015 also included a children’s campaign called the Kids Safety Carnival, which was held throughout the year in selected locations across the country.

“We received overwhelming response for both our Kids Safety Carnival and Safety Driving Experience from our customers this year, with a total of about 1,300 enthusiastic participants. To know that Nissan owners are constantly looking to improve the quality of safety is a great encouragement for us, we look forward to plan many more fun and educational programmes such as this in the future,” he added.
