Additionally, the Infiniti Q50 was awarded Best Premium Compact Passenger Car.

Autoworld Car of The Year Awards is an annual Malaysian car awards organized by Autoworld.com.my and currently running in its fifth year. The objective of this award is to recognize and acclaim the best new cars launched in the market in the past 12 months (November 2013 – October 2014). Judging criteria are based on the aspect of design, comfort, safety, economy, handling, performance, functionality, environmental requirements, driver satisfaction, and value for money. Besides, members of the public were also given a chance to vote via online voting to ensure comprehensive evaluation and fair results. 20 awards were given out this year by Autoworld.com.my.

The locally-assembled third generation Teana is Nissan’s flagship model, and offers ultimate driving performance, luxury, comfort and safety, with impressive features that include Zero-Gravity Inspired seats, 4-inch Advance Drive Assist Display (ADAD), and 6 SRS Airbags. The Teana also made the history by being first car to achieve 5-Star safety rating at ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) – 16.00 points in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 5-Star rating in Child Occupant Protection (COP) with 88 percent compliance.

The Nissan Elgrand, equipped with the 3.5-litre engine and automatic transmission, is a fully-imported 7-seater premium MPV. The Elgrand imparts a strong luxury feeling with impressive appearances and new features, such as best-in class walkthrough cabin, superior captain seats with Ottoman seats and electrically-powered driver seat which can be adjusted 8-ways for maximum comfort. It is the jewel in the stable of a full range of Nissan MPVs offered by ETCM, the other being the Grand Livina and Serena S-Hybrid

The 100 percent Electric Vehicle, Nissan Leaf has been available in Malaysia since November 2013. This EV generates zero emissions to ensure its environmental impact is minimal as it is powered only by an electric motor. Packed full with technology, the Leaf is available in four drive modes – the regular D mode, D-ECO mode, B mode and B-ECO mode – to suit different driving conditions. On a full charge, it has an estimated range of 195 kilometers according to the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). The Leaf is also equipped with six (6) airbags as well as other safety features such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC).

The Infiniti Q50 is powered by a responsive and highly efficient 2.0-liter direct-injection four-cylinder turbo engine. Representative of Infiniti’s high-tech priorities with the Q50, the world’s first steer-by-wire system – Direct Adaptive Steering (DAS) and Active Lane Control (ALC) are included. Both world-first technologies provide unprecedented driving comfort, safety and steering precision. The interior of the Q50 offers a powerful blend of three-dimensional textures, highest craftsmanship and premium quality, combining modern luxury and user-focused advanced technology.

These awards come after the recent recognition of Nissan models at the NST-Maybank Car of the Year 2014 Awards, and are once again testament of Nissan and ETCM’s efforts in providing value-for-money products that are of high level of quality, safety and performance.
