NISSAN X-TRAIL NOW AVAILABLE IN FLAMING RED THIS CHINESE NEW YEAR

KUALA LUMPUR, 21 January 2016 –To ignite the Year of the Fire Monkey, Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM) introduced a blazing new colour option – Flaming Red, for the Nissan X-Trail.

A solid red in a gloss finish, the Flaming Red X-Trail adds a fiery touch to one of Malaysia’s best-selling SUVs.

Mr Tan Keng Meng, Director of Marketing and Product Planning, explains, “With the introduction of this new colour option, we believe that it adds vibrancy to the Nissan X-Trail, just in time for Chinese New Year. Red is an emotionally intense colour – it is the colour of love and fire, and is associated with passion. For the Chinese, red symbolises luck, prosperity and happiness. The Flaming Red X-Trail that is red in colour, coupled with its premium styling, off-road capabilities and ground-breaking technologies is a strong statement to showcase an energetic, adventurous and dynamic personality.”

The X-Trail is available locally in two variants, 2.5L 4WD and 2.0L 2WD. The range topping 2.5L 4WD variant is powered with the QR25DE-k2 engine with Twin CVTC, providing maximum power output of 171 PS at 6,000 rpm and 233 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The 2.0L 2WD variant comes with the MR20DD engine with direct injection and Twin CVTC, capable of 144 PS at 6,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm.

Both variants come fitted with Nissan’s Next Generation Xtronic CVT with 7-speed manual mode for wealth of exhilarating driving performance, and ECO mode system for better fuel efficiency

The locally-assembled Flaming Red X-trail boasts ground-breaking Active Chassis Control technology to ensure smooth, stress-free driving experience such as Active Ride Control and Active Engine Brake- that has been adopted as world-firsts as well as the Active Trace Control system – a ‘Nissan-first’.

The Nissan X-Trail was recently awarded as 2015 Malaysian ‘Family SUV of the Year’ and 2015 ASEAN Car of the Year (2nd Runner-Up) at the ASEAN Car of the Year Award (ACOTY) by iCar Asia Limited..

Available only in limited units, the Nissan X-Trail in Flaming Red is priced at RM159,164.06 for the 2.5L 4WD, and RM136,976.96 for the 2.0L 2WD (on-the-road prices including GST without insurance for Peninsular Malaysia). The X-Trail comes with three (3) years or 100,000km warranty (whichever comes first).
