TAN CHONG GROUP CELEBRATES GONG XI FA CAI WITH CHILDREN AND OLD FOLKS OF SJKC SG CHUA, SJKC SG WAY AND YI XING USJ OLD FOLKS HOME RESPECTIVELY

February 2019 – Prosperity, happiness, good health & good fortune. Festivals are good opportunities for wishing all these for our families and friends. However, festivals also serve as a reminder to us that in these seasons of sharing, we should not forget the needs of those unfortunate folks and children. As part of our social obligation to the community, Tan Chong Group continued to bring joy to the needy and less fortunate by organising Chinese New Year treats for around 90 children and senior citizens from SJKC Sg Chua, Yi Xing USJ Old Folks Home and SJKC Sg Way on 14 February, 16 February and 18 February 2019 respectively at their schools and home. The children & old folks were warmly welcomed by the committee members at their premises and mouth-watering spread of sumptuous food and buffet lunch were prepared for these occasions and everyone present happily indulged themselves. The tossing of ‘Yee Sang’ to signify prosperity and good fortune, added more merriment to the atmosphere that was already brimming with joy and laughter.

In order to honour the Group’s continuous support, SJKC Sg Chua’s headmistress, PIBG and committee members presented a 3D Chinese New Year painting which was collectively done by its students, as a token of appreciation for the financial support given to the school for the past decade. The Chinese New Year spirit was further amped-up when the management team from Tan Chong Group gave each child and old folk an angpow, much to their wonderment.

It was truly a beautiful and heartwarming sight to see the sparkle of happiness that was bestowed on the children and old folks’ faces. As a corporate organisation that always cares, Tan Chong Group will continue to bring festive cheer to the less fortunate in our efforts to uphold and maintain the spirit of caring and sharing whist we celebrate our diverse cultural activities.
