Tan Chong Motor Holdings Berhad Honoured With Kincentric COVID Resilience Award Malaysia 2020
January 2021: Tan Chong Motor Holdings Berhad (TCMH) was accorded special recognition by Kincentric – with the award received by Group CEO Mr. Daniel Ho and Group HR’s General Manager Ms. Chan Mei Lynn – at the virtually-held Kincentric Best Employers Malaysia 2020 Learning Conference & Award Ceremony on 16th December 2020.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to threaten the livelihoods of people, with enterprises and employees facing countless challenges. The enterprises shortlisted for this award were judged on four different aspects i.e., senior leadership and communication, care and concern, wellness and safety, and virtual work effectiveness.
During the event, Mr. Daniel Ho shared about the Group’s efforts to deal with the business challenges brought on by the pandemic in Malaysia in March 2020. “Managing workplace health, safety and well-being has always been a top priority at the Tan Chong Group. The Covid-19 outbreak remains an unprecedented event, affecting communities worldwide. In this context, extraordinary measures have been put in place in all of our business premises and workplaces to ensure that we can continue to deliver on our promise to protect our teams and stem the spread of the virus.”
“The concept of telecommuting or working from home was never a part of our culture before the pandemic. However, since March 2020, we have taken this within our stride and leveraged on the various platforms that we use, to continue operations from home virtually. A number of initiatives have also been undertaken to keep our stakeholders safe and manage the risk of infections and transmission. I may be the one accepting this honor, but the award belongs equally to the great team I have at the Tan Chong Group,” he emphasised.
Kincentric, a Spencer Stuart company, conducted this survey back in April 2020 within the Group. For the last 20 years, the Kincentric Best Employers program has recognized leading corporations across the globe. This year, in view of the unexpected pandemic situation, Kincentric has introduced a special COVID Resilience Award to commend corporate entities that have risen by holistically supporting their employees in managing the tremendous emotional, social and economic impact brought on by the pandemic.
