TCTECH VISITED TCIE FOR FUTURE COLLABORATION

As a developing nation, the rapid expansion of industrial fields such as constructions, land development and architecture infrastructures has led to an increase in the demand for heavy-duty commercial vehicles in Malaysia.  However, there is a huge shortage of heavy commercial vehicle programme in the market and this warrants urgent attention.  To further enhance the position of the Group in the Malaysian commercial automotive industry, Tan Chong Technical Institute (TCTECH) plans to launch its first ever homegrown Heavy Commercial Vehicle Programme by mid-2020.

To kick off this programme, TCTECH Heavy Commercial Vehicle Special Projects’ team members visited Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd (TCIE) at Batu Caves on 6 March 2020 to discuss possible collaboration and gain in-depth understanding of each other’s role with the goal of achieving excellent results.

This programme will train and nurture youths in technical and vocational education and training (heavy commercial automotive studies) and subsequently provide skilled graduates for subsidiary companies in our Group.  It will also equip the students with the skills and knowledge to competently carry out service, repair and diagnostic procedures.  Upon completion, the students are able to fully understand the motor vehicle operations both theoretically and practically.

TCTECH also visited the nine graduates and on-the-job training students who are currently working for TCIE in order to understand their performances and ensure that they are able to facilitate positive interactions within the company.
