Wheels for BAKASA

Being part of the society, we recognise the importance in contributing towards the welfare of the community in which we operate in, and continuously identify opportunities to support charitable causes and initiatives in community development projects.

“Badan Amal Kasih Sayang” (BAKASA) is a non-profit charitable body, falling under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang. Established with the aim of providing a better living environment for underprivileged children, especially orphans from poor families, BAKASA also manages the Rumah Kanak-Kanak Tengku Ampuan Afzan home in Pahang, which houses 70 children between ages 7 to 18 years old.

Since the Tan Chong Group is in the business of transportation, we responded very naturally to BAKASA’s request for help, by donating a vehicle that enables them to transport the children under their care. It was truly gratifying to see the smiles on the faces of BAKASA representatives, as we handed them the key to a 14-seater Nissan URVAN. We hope that this spacious, versatile vehicle will serve BAKASA well, for years to come.
